Mendocino Mustard Recipe Contest
Official Rules and Regulations
Eligibility
The Mendocino Mustard Recipe Contest is open to adults 18 years or older who are residents of the United States. Professionals such as chefs, caterers, food editors, home economists or educators, or anyone who is involved in the professional preparation of food or recipes for pay, employees of Mendocino Mustard Inc. and their families are not eligible. Questions about eligibility requirements will be decided by Mendocino Mustard Inc. and all decisions are final.
To Enter
The Mendocino Mustard Recipe Contest consists of two categories:
recipes using Mendocino Mustard Hot & Sweet and recipes using Mendocino Mustard Seeds & Suds.
Recipes may be for main dish, side dish, sauce, soup, salad, baked goods etcetera.
1. Send your original recipe using one or more of the Mendocino Mustard varieties.
2. Entry must include: recipe category, title of recipe, number of servings, list of ingredients with specific quantities
in standard U.S. measurements in order of use, and complete preparation directions including baking/cooking
time and temperature.
3. Recipe must include at least 2 Tbsp. of Mendocino Mustard.
4. Recipes, along with contestant's name, complete address, phone number and eligility must be submitted
electronically or clearly typed or printed on 8-1/2 x 11-inch paper, one side only. Include email address and fax
number, if applicable. Each recipe must be submitted on a separate sheet or entered electronically on separate
forms.
Beginning November 15, 2004, submit an original recipe online at www.mendocinomustard.com or mail to: Mendocino Mustard Recipe Contest, 1260 North Main Street Suite 11, Fort Bragg. CA 95437. Contest ends June 15, 2005. There is no limit to the number of recipes submitted, but there can be only one winner per household. Entries sent via the U.S. mail must be postmarked no later than June 15, 2005. Entries sent via the Mendocino Mustard website must be received by 11:59 pm (PST) on June15, 2005. Mendocino Mustard Inc. is not responsible for entries that are lost or mishandled.

Rules
Recipes must be original. Recipes must not have been previously published in the same or nearly the same form. By submitting a recipe, you affirm that to the best of your knowledge, it is your original work and unpublished or it is an existing recipe that features four or more significant changes. Contestants are solely responsible for complying with any applicable copyright restrictions and Mendocino Mustard Inc. assumes no obligations in that regard. By participating, each entrant accepts these rules and agrees to be bound by the decisions of the judges, which will be final.
Participants and winners understand and agree that recipe entries (including photographs, if any) become the exclusive property of Mendocino Mustard Inc. upon submission and cannot be returned. All intellectual property rights in recipes and photographs submitted by participants are transferred to Mendocino Mustard Inc. upon submission and shall be owned thereafter by Mendocino Mustard Inc. Participants and winners further agree that entries may be used, edited, modified or expanded upon by Mendocino Mustard Inc. or other contest sponsors in any way those organizations deem appropriate, without compensation to participants/winners.
Winners grant permission to Mendocino Mustard Inc. for use of their name, photograph and/or likeness, for publicity or advertising purposes and similar promotions, and for use in winner's list, without compensation.
Recipes not meeting all requirements will be disqualified.
Void where prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state and local laws apply.
Winners will be solely responsible for any personal tax liability on the prize awards.
Judging
Recipes will be judged on taste, originality, ease of preparation and appearance.
Winning recipes will be judged by a panel of food professionals. All decisions are final.
The judging panel will disqualify any recipes known to have been previously published or previous recipe contest winners.
Judges will select one Grand Prize winner in each category and a second and third place winner in each category (total of 6 prizes). Grand prize is $500 and a mixed case of mustards, second place prize is $100 and a mixed case of mustards, third place prize is $50 and a mixed case of mustards.
Winners will be selected during the week of August 5, 2005 and will be notified by telephone. Letter of verification will follow within 7 days. Winners will be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and release form which must be returned within 10 days if the date of notification that they have won or they will be disqualified.
